Individual, Couple, Teen & Family Therapy

Watkins Counselling & Wellness is a virtual counselling practice based in Smiths Falls, serving clients across Ontario. We provide online counselling for individuals, couples, and families seeking meaningful support and lasting change.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based approaches and delivered within a warm, collaborative, and client-centred space rooted in empathy, respect, and authenticity. We focus especially on relationship work β€” supporting couples and families in strengthening connection, improving communication, and navigating challenges together β€” as well as working with individuals experiencing anxiety, life transitions, and relational stress.

We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for people of all identities and backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people exploring their identities, and those from diverse and marginalized communities. We are also a neurodivergent-affirming practice, and much of our work is centred around supporting neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families in ways that honour their unique strengths, experiences, and needs.

Whether you are feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply seeking growth, we partner with you to build insight, deepen understanding, and create meaningful change in your life and relationships.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or everyday stress, therapy helps you make sense of what you are going through and find ways to move forward.

It can support building self-awareness, improving emotional regulation, and developing healthier coping strategies while addressing challenges like burnout, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.

FAMILY THERAPY

Couples therapy supports partners of all sexual orientations and gender identities in improving communication, rebuilding trust, and deepening emotional connection. It offers a safe, structured space to work through conflict, strengthen your relationship, and foster lasting intimacy.

We support couples navigating challenges such as infidelity, loss of trust, and ongoing patterns of disconnection. We also offer discernment therapy for couples who feel unsure about staying together and want clarity before making a decision.

Family therapy supports healthier dynamics when relationships feel strained or disconnected. It provides a safe space to improve communication, strengthen emotional bonds, and help each family member feel heard, understood, and connected.

It can also support families navigating conflict, life transitions, and ongoing patterns of disconnection while building understanding, cooperation, and stronger relationships over time.

Teen Therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental space where youth can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, school stress, peer relationships, or identity, therapy helps teens feel understood and less alone.

It supports emotional regulation, builds self-esteem, and helps teens develop healthy coping strategies. Therapy can also assist with family challenges, social pressures, and life transitions while strengthening communication, resilience, and confidence.
